is an organization that our primary objective is the maintenance and promotion of Cretan culture and heritage in the Greater Houston Area.
About usAbout Cretans of HoustonPancretan Association of America (P.A.A.), Chapter “Cretan Association of Greater Houston, Texas” is founded on March 28, 2004 at the Annunciation Cathedral Church, Polemanakos Building, and room 243, located at 3511 Yoakum Boulevard, Houston, Texas. The “Cretans of Houston”, Texas is hereby established by Cretans residing in the Greater Houston Area, State of Texas in the United States. The Association’s official headquarters are in Houston, Texas with the first (1st) President, Mr. George P. Zombanakis. The P.A.A. Chapter Cretan Association of Houston, Texas is a non-profit, independent, mutual aid, philanthropic, progressive and educational organization. The Cretans of Houston Chapter is in no way a political or religious organization; however, it is affiliated with the P.A.A.
Crete
Crete - Kriti KRITI, CRETE, or KRETE, Latin CRETA, Venetian CANDIA, island in the eastern Mediterranean that is an administrative region of Greece. The center of one of the oldest and most important civilizations, the ancient Minoan civilization, the southernmost point of Europe where its name originated and to which it owes so much. The meeting point of three continents - Europe, Asia and Africa - and the cradle of most of what we know as classical civilization which has been so instrumental in shaping our world today. .
